Our Goals

Preserving the Past, Inspiring the Future

The Boys' Brigade East Antrim Battalion Heritage Society (BBEABHS) exists to preserve, protect, and promote the rich heritage of The Boys' Brigade in our area - and beyond. Formed on 1st August 2019 after the closure of two local BB companies, the Society began when Mr Drew Buchanan MBE started collecting BB memorabilia. Since then, our mission has grown, and today we have recorded and photographed over 2,700 items, safeguarding them for future generations.

Where We Are Now

We are delighted to have moved into our new premises at:
13 North Street, Carrickfergus
Opened on Tuesday 23rd April 2025
This replaces our former location at 31a High Street, which we vacated on 2nd April 2025.
While 13 North Street offers a valuable home for the next three years, we continue to work towards our long-term goal: securing a permanent base to house our collection and expand our activities.

What We Do

Operate a public museum with changing exhibitions
Catalogue, preserve and display BB memorabilia
Host exhibitions across East Antrim (Larne, Ballyclare, Carrickfergus)
Run evening visits by appointment
Maintain an online museum: View here https://www.bbeab.org/museum/index.html.

Although we no longer operate as a mobile museum, we are happy to set up exhibitions on request for churches, schools, and community events.
