BB Museum Celebrates Official Opening at New Premises – 13 North Street, Carrickfergus on 30th May 2025

The Boys’ Brigade East Antrim Battalion Heritage Society is delighted to announce the official opening of its new museum premises at 13 North Street, Carrickfergus, which will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday 30th May 2025.We are pleased to welcome guests, supporters, volunteers, and trustees to this special event, which marks a significant step forward in preserving and promoting the rich history of The Boys’ Brigade in East Antrim.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be carried out by Mrs Jean Stewart, former Captain of 4th Carrickfergus Boys’ Brigade, in recognition of her outstanding commitment and service to the BB movement.
Mr Donald Blair, President of the East Antrim Battalion, will make the opening remarks, followed by a short address from Mr Drew Buchanan MBE, Chair of the Heritage Society, who will sum up and reflect on the journey to this milestone.
“We are thrilled to open the doors of our new home at 13 North Street,” said Mr Buchanan. “This venue gives us space not only to display our ever-growing collection but to welcome the community in and inspire future generations. We are honoured to have Mrs Jean Stewart with us to mark this occasion.”
The event will also include the unveiling of the museum’s latest displays, featuring artefacts, uniforms, trophies, photographs, and memorabilia from over a century of BB history.
The museum team extends an open invitation to the community to attend the opening and experience the heritage of The Boys’ Brigade in East Antrim.
