BB Museum Opens at New Location in Carrickfergus
Opening to the Public: Wednesday 23rd April at 10:00am
Official Opening Ceremony to Follow in May

The Boys' Brigade East Antrim Battalion Heritage Society is delighted to announce the opening of its new museum premises at 13 North Street, Carrickfergus, on Wednesday 23rd April 2025 at 10:00am.

After successfully operating from 31a High Street since October 2023, the museum has now moved to a new home under a three-year lease - a major step forward in securing the future of this important community heritage resource.

Visitors can look forward to a refreshed and expanded experience, including:

  • A new feature exhibition on BB Camping, exploring the history and adventure of camps through the decades
  • The latest additions to the Oral History Project, with recorded interviews from BB members and leaders
  • A wide array of Boys' Brigade memorabilia, from uniforms and badges to photographs and documents
  • A museum shop - all proceeds reinvested in the museum's work

Drew Buchanan MBE, Chair of Trustees, said:

"This move marks an exciting new chapter for the BB Museum. With a secure base for the next three years, we can now grow our exhibitions, welcome more visitors, and deepen our mission to preserve and share the story of The Boys' Brigade in East Antrim and beyond."

While the museum opens to the public on 23rd April, an official opening event will take place later in May - details to be announced.

The museum team encourages all supporters, past members, families, and the local community to visit, donate, or simply pop in and say hello.

Opening Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00am - 12:00pm & 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Location: 13 North Street, Carrickfergus
